About Schoodic: This has been the longest symposium I have ever participated in, and in this period I had the most beautiful time. The atmosphere, hospitality, help given by the crew and the warm interest of the public was amazing. Especially the voluntary help and their dedicated efforts were impressive. You made me feel at home.

Artist Biography

Songul Telek of Tokat, Turkey graduated from the Sculpture Department of Mimar Sinan University. She has participated in over 20 symposiums and multiple exhibits throughout Turkey, USA, Egypt, India, Romania, Syria, and the Czech Republic.

“My sculptures have the basic compositional elements in common: tension between the units, rhytmical arrangement of masses and a balanced and harmonious overall composition. Material is the main defining force of sculpture. Within every material the sculptor sees new opportunities of narration. Among all materials, with its complexity, durability and fragility together, stone may be the most formidable of all.”
