To promote career service professionals on the local, state, and national levels by:
- Uniting professional persons engaged in career services work in one organization;
- Disseminating information and focusing public attention on legislation in any way affecting the status of career technical education, school counseling, and related career services work as a professional endeavor;
- Encouraging cooperation with other professional organizations that have similar aims and interests.
